Hermit Island
This trail was easily one of my favorites thus far. It was so beautiful that we ended up doing almost 2 extra miles because of how many times we went off the trail to see more views. It took us longer than we planned, but it was totally worth it because when we were done the sun was setting and it was stunning. Overall, the trail was a great workout, it had a great mix of hiking in the woods and hiking along the ocean, and it had several vistas,…

Tough Times Call for Beautiful Measures
Life is not easy. Living in a world full of negativity and trying to pull away from it is not easy. Trying to fit yourself into the standards of society by looking, or being, or doing as everyone else is not easy. Healing and moving forward is not easy. Being happy and positive all the time is not easy. We all fall victim to making life harder than it needs to be mostly by focusing on the bad and forgetting the good. Even when people perceive their life as being…

Cliff Trail
This adventure was planned last minute, but ended up being totally worth it. AllTrails states that the trail is 2.1 miles long, but we strayed off the trail a few times to see lookouts and vistas, so our overall total was 2.9 miles. The day Nick and I went we decided at 4:00pm, when I was out of work at 4:30pm, that we needed to get outside. On our way to the trail it was partly sunny and warm, but once we got to the trail, the weather was cloudy…

Potts Point Preserve
This was a great first trail to do in March because it was shorter, there was barely any snow, it had ocean views, and I only came across two people the entire time I was there. It isn’t much of a trail but you can see Maine’s rocky coast line here, casco bay, and many islands in the distance. This trail was perfect for a random adventure to get out of the house. It is perfect if you want to explore, have a picnic or if you just want to…

Hedgehog Mountain
This was a short hike with minimal elevation gain. It was a nice trail to do in early March as Maine was slowly coming out of winter mode. It is easy for beginners and kids, plus it has as a good summit view – especially if you’re looking to catch a sunset. Overall, I would hike this trail again. It is a good hike to do as a beginner or to just get outdoors. It also would be a perfect running trail, if you’re into trail running. I think that…

Dear Past Me – I Forgive You
Dear past me, I forgive you. I used to blame you, but I no longer do. I’ve spent countless hours revisiting the past and blaming you for everything, for things that were not your fault and I am sorry. I know now. I know you did everything you could. I know you did the best with what, and who, you had. I know you did it all for you, for me – for us. I know growing up was difficult for you. I know you felt like you weren’t protected…
